The INVADER NC Balloon Catheter is being designed to be used in dilating the highly calcified lesions with a high pressure application. The balloon’s non-compliant structure will ensure a minimal diameter change throughout the entire balloon length. Homogenous balloon expansion and size precision will be two important aspects of this catheter. (Still in R&D stage)
Homogeneous Balloon Expansion
The INVADER NC Balloon Catheter is being designed to provide homogeneous balloon expansion throughout the entire balloon length.
Tri-Folding Technique
The INVADER NC Balloon Catheter will be formed with a Tri-folding technique –which was developed by Alvimedica. This technique allows the balloon to return to its initial shape after deflation.
ATMS Fold Technique
After the Tri-folding process, the wrapped balloon goes into an advanced thermal memory shaping (ATMS) state which provides 20% decrease in the balloon’s profile and increases the balloon’s rewrapping tendency.
Pushability
A Hydrophilic coating and low balloon profile are combined to improve pushability. A Carbon reinforced inner lumen decreases the frictional force. These features are combined to provide this catheter with an excellent lesion crossing capability.
Flexibility
The INVADER NC Balloon Catheter will have high flexibility with its special hypotube design and annealing.
